August post

Well I guess it time for an update.. to follow on from the last post, I am no longer frustrated, but I am also not promoted. . That annonyed me a fair bit, but the good thing was that someone else made me an offer about two days after I was told that I wasn't being promoted, so I took the offer and gave notice.. that felt really good.

I finished the old job on Friday and I start the new one on Thursday. Should be fun.. but I will have to avoid all racial slurs and sexual innuendo for a whole 3 months of probation. That may be tougher than I first imagined..

For those of you who don't know your days of the week, finishing on Friday and not starting again till Thursday gives me a really long weekend.. speaking of weekend.. the weekend just gone was pretty good.. mainly due to its action packedness.. I'm pretty sure we didn't do anything Friday night.. but who knows.. I'm bad at remembering these things. . Saturday morning was Jill and I traipsing all the way over to Kenmore for a haircut at about 8:30am... way too early for a haircut.. then getting some delicious stuff from Brumby's for some kind of quasi breakfast. then on to the city to Tony Barlow for a suit fitting for Glen and Roz's wedding.. that went a lot quicker than I thought was humanly possible. I thought when you combined two women (one being the bride, the other being my wife) and four men that only disaster could follow.. or a double spit roast... but it was all over pretty quick once Frank and Lawnrice actually got there.

I now have to spoon Frank on the night of the wedding to make sure he gets out of bed in time. . I could just buy him an alarm clock.. but he looks like a warm kind of bloke.

Back to the weekend.. after the suit fitting I had my company accounting mid sem. . that was a whole barrel of fun.. actually to be fair it was a shitload easier than I was expecting, which was a good thing.. I had to catch the train home from the exam which involved a bit of a walk from morningside station, but it probably did me good..I had to catch the train because Jill went down the coast after dropping me at uni because she scored a free room at the Sheraton Mirage.. good old jills work with the free stuff...

After the train ride home I had a shower to rid myself of the waling sweat.. it was a foul thing.. and to make myself presentable for a dinner with people from work as a bit of a goodbye thing. It was at e'cco... mmm delicious.. I had this wagyu rib fillet, man it was good and some seared kingfish, also delicious.... complemented with a delious bottle of rockford rod and spur from SA

So after the delicious dinner, my boss who happens to live right near sheraton mirage gave me a lift down to where Jill was staying. .. woke up in the morning to the alarm at 6am which I had set in a drunken stupor the night before... god knows why... went downstairs for a delicious buffet breakfast.. . god i love those things..

checked out at about 10:30am and waited for the valet to show up with our car for about 30mins.. gotta love valet parking, but when there is a 30min wait it sucks. Drove home, relaxed for a bit and then went and did the grocery shopping... then went out for a late lunch with Katrina and Ieuan at a place over near ennogera called fushia (can't remember how it's spelt, but it's not spelt the right way. .)They make some delicious pizza.. jill and I shared a beef pizza of deliciousness.

We had some drama getting to this place of mystery. Jill and Katrina set up the lunch and Jill told Katrina that she knew where it was.. so after trying to find an address in yellow pages we hop in the car and try and invent a way there. it almost worked.. we were only about 3mins away when we called them and asked where the fuck it was. But we got there and it was delicious.

That just about wraps up the weekend.

Here are a couple of photos of the old work. They are pretty dodgy and you can't see the hot beef tunnel. I'm going to miss that place.
